“In BDSM, a contract is an agreement, usually written, between the dominant and submissive in a 24/7 or Total Power Exchange (TPE)relationship. It is the formal act of consent to the power exchange.
Some are very formal and will detail exactly what is expected and can run for multiple pages. Others are as brief as a single paragraph. Either way, one is derived by negotiation on the part of both parties. BDSM couples consider the contract to hold equal moral authority to a marriage commitment. As such, constructing a proper contract is very much like writing a pre-nuptial agreement.”- Wikipedia
This is something that Howard and I are very interested in and something we have. A 24/7 Total Power Exchange Contract (TPE). Contracts are rather simple things to understand. It’s a normal contract, besides the whole BDSM thing. It outlines names, rules, duties, goals, limits, termination requirements, and signatures saying that both representatives of the party consents.
TPE’s are not legally binding in the United States because of the whole ban on slavery thing, however, they do have some hold-up in court. If the submissive is harmed by anything and they consented to being harmed, it is written on paper, along with signed and consented to by the submissive. If a Master harms a Submissive in a noticeable way or does something that the submissive consented towards, the Master cannot get in trouble. However, if it is clearly stated in the limits that the master may not harm the submissive in a certain way (ie: scarification, piercing, permanent bodily harm) then the master can and will be charged in a court of law for assault and face a hefty penalty.
I think that the TPE contract that Howard and I share is clearly outlined and adds a little pizzazz to our relationship. It’s like a marriage contract… a very very kinky marriage contract. A contract that will never be null and void because we will always be together.
Do you know anyone involved with TPE or have any experience with it? Send us a message and let us know. Also, if you’re interested in being on our page or showing us something interesting, submit it. Both of the links are on the front page. As always, capped winkies, and safe sex. :3
